  • Waimea College Headstart Group again help clear pest plants

    The students from Waimea College spent the afternoon removing the invading broom and other weeds and also plnted some natives so that we can restore the hillside. This will allow further spread of wildlife down the Valley. We thank them very much for their hard work to help the project

  • Swedish Students Experience a NZ Conservation Effort

  • Bugged Again!

    Mapua School visited us on a very wet Friday, 17 December, as part of the Air New Zealand Environmental Trust, Kids Restore NZ project.

    They were lucky to have Ruud Kleinpaste accompany them to the Sanctuary and go for a walk into the bush. He was very happy to return and become reacquainted with our resident weka family.
